The Sheil Steering Council is a dedicated group of students, associates and staff who work together to promote the mission of the Sheil Catholic Center. The Council meets monthly to discuss issues affecting the Center and to coordinate activities. Members serve as committee co-chairs, coordinating volunteers to perform the activities sponsored by their committees.

...reaches out to students, associates, alumni and parents to inform them of Sheil's exciting events through The Center, the Sheil Web site, dorm contacts and other means.

Community Life Committee – Kim Brightmore, Andrew Hutton, Rachel Alba
...builds relationships among the different members of the Sheil community by organizing events such as the First Sunday Dinners, New Student Week and the Easter Vigil party.

Education Committee – Annette Wellman, Noel LaBate, Kevin Kohlstedt
...promotes conversation and education about faith issues through sacramental preparation, religious education programs, Bible study, Catholicism 101, lectures and seminars, etc.

Facilities Committee – Mike Donovan, Charlotte Rathke, Shannon Schneeman
...cares for Sheil’s building and grounds. Recruits volunteers for clean-up days, organizes quarterly clean-ups, maintenance projects and major renovations.

Fundraising Committee – Elise Docster, Andrea Tsang, Christine Ritchey,Jim Morton
...raises money to support Sheil’s activities. Fundraising coordinates Mardi Gras, the Stewardship Drive, the Friends of Sheil Dinner, the spring benefit dinners, and the Parent Appeal.

Liturgy Committee – Krystyna Kowalik, Megan Sugrue
...link Steering Council to the Liturgy Commission, which oversees aspects of the liturgy, such as readers, Eucharistic Ministers and music, and prepares for the various seasons of the liturgical year.

Service Committee – Cosi Onyeneho, John Baker, Jessica Danielson
...organizes opportunities for the Sheil community to help others by coordinating both service projects and opportunities for charitable contributions. Also oversees the Social Justice Committee and maintains a relationship with the ecumenical community in Evanston.

Spiritual Life Committee – Courtney Brown, Julie Milligan, Mike Gordon
...oversees Sheil's spiritual activities, including retreats, Celtic Prayer, Journeys in Faith, Path of Life, and Lenten events.

Secretary – Julia Padvoiskis
...takes minutes, keeps records and compiles information for the Council.
