Donating to Sheil Catholic Center

Sheil Catholic Center is a charitable organization. Donations are gratefully accepted. Checks can be made payable to Sheil Catholic Center. Below are some of the programs through which associates, friends, parents and alumni may consider donating. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss a specific donation, please contact Christi Thompson, Director of Institutional Advancement at (847) 328-4648.

Stewardship

What identifies a steward? Safeguarding material and human resources and using them responsibly? Certainly. So is generous giving of Time, Talent and Financial Resources. But being a Christian steward means more. As Christian stewards, we receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, and share them lovingly in justice with others, thus returning them with increase to the Lord.

Stewardship of our Time and Talent: Whether a talent for music, an ability to make others feel welcome, or a knack for organization, each of us has been given special gifts from God. Finding ways to use these gifts and talents for the benefit of all is a truly critical aspect of stewardship. We are deeply grateful to the people who give of their time and talent in support of the Sheil mission. We know that many people are involved in more than one ministry, or participate in several groups here. We truly appreciate what each of you does for this community. Thank you.

Stewardship of Treasure: Each November we conduct our Stewardship Drive. During this time, we ask the regular participating members of our community to consider their circumstances, and specifically decide what commitment they can make for monetary donations over the coming year.

Chaplain's Fund

The Chaplain’s Fund is an annual appeal to alumni and friends. Each year, Sheil strives toward its mission of transforming society by developing leaders who know Christ.

Through programs that provide for spiritual growth, theological education, leadership development and community building, Sheil has broken attendance records at Mass and special events, and increased cooperation with Northwestern University. It is critical to this mission that the Center is able to continue to both support the needs of the community and grow as the Sheil community grows.

The Chaplain's Fund supports Sheil's mission including programming, facility repairs, additional staff salaries and helps deal with the increasing costs of utilities, office supplies and technical support.

Anyone who would like to contribute, or would like more information, should call the Sheil Office at (847) 328-4648, or send an e-mail to Sheil@northwestern.edu.

Matching Gifts

If you work for or are affiliated with a company that matches gifts, please make your check payable to "Northwestern University Sheil Center," and include the matching gift form with your donation.

Gift Credit Through Northwestern

Alumni, parents and friends wishing to donate to Sheil may now choose to route their gift through Northwestern University's Development Office. Routing a gift to Sheil via Northwestern will make some donations eligible for corporate matching. Additionally, it may give the donor membership in one of the exclusive Northwestern giving clubs. Gifts given through the university will be restricted to student and educational programming.

Any other type of restricted gift (facilities, buildings and grounds, etc.) may be made directly to Sheil.

For those interested in donating to Sheil via Northwestern, checks, money orders or transfers of stock can be sent to:

Ms. Becky Randall
NU Development Office
2020 Ridge Ave., 2nd Floor
Evanston, IL 60208-4305.

** Please be aware that there is usually a month delay between the University receiving a gift and Sheil being notified. Please contact Christina Thompson, Director of Institutional Advancement, to ensure timely acknowledgement from Sheil.

The Sheil Center Account, #3104-160-170M, should be written on the letter or check.
