What identifies a steward?
Stewardship traditionally refers to those who safeguard material and
human resources and use them responsibly. As does generous giving of
Time, Talent and Financial Resources.
But being a Christian steward means more. As Christian stewards, we receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly and share them lovingly in justice with others, thus returning them with increase to the Lord.
Stewardship of our Time and Talent
Whether a talent for music, the ability to make others feel
welcome or a knack for organization, each of us has been given special
gifts from God. Finding ways to use these gifts and talents for the
benefit of all is a truly critical aspect of stewardship.
At the Sheil Catholic Center, we are deeply grateful to the people who give of their time and talent in support of the Sheil mission. We know that many people are involved in more than one ministry, or participate in several groups here, and we truly appreciate what each of you does for this community.
Stewardship of Treasure
Each November, we conduct our Stewardship Drive. During this
time, we ask the regular participating members of our community to consider
their circumstances, and specifically decide what commitment they can
make for monetary donations over the coming year.
