We welcome you and your children to the Sheil Catholic Center!
College is full of new experiences — some exciting, some difficult. Knowing that your child has a supportive faith community can ease both your mind and your child’s transition through college.
Sheil Catholic Center is the Catholic Campus Ministry on both Northwestern University’s Evanston and Chicago Campuses. Our dynamic community includes undergraduates, graduate students and “associates” — the adults, alumni and faculty who live within the Northwestern and surrounding communities.
Sheil often acts as a "home away from home" for students. We offer a warm, welcoming environment for students, providing them plenty of opportunities to make personal and spiritual connections to God and the larger Catholic community.
We strive to:
- Help clarify values in a time of exploration
- Build a sense of Catholic identity and understanding through education, reflection and discussion
- Form leaders in the world and for the Church through service and empowerment
- Do all of this in the context of faith, through a vibrant spiritual center

We also have a separate page for incoming or prospective students, who often have additional questions about spirituality in college. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
If you are a parent of a younger child in grade or high school, our Sheil School of Religion offers religious education and sacramental preparation for your children. Learn more about the Sheil School of Religion.
We truly look forward to getting to know both you and your children throughout their four years at Northwestern University!
In Christ the Teacher,
