Welcome Class of 2018!

Welcome Class of 2018 and congratulations on being accepted to Northwestern University. We want you to know that the Sheil Catholic Center is here for you no matter whether you are a practicing Catholic, non-practicing Catholic or not Catholic at all. Our Center is a place of welcome. A place you can come relax, be yourself, make new friends, eat (we always have food) and take a break from the rigors of academia. Our Center has a chapel, study library, small conference rooms, social lounge with pool and ping-pong tables, large flat screen TV and lots of comfy couches.

The Sheil Catholic Center is committed to providing a welcoming environment where fellowship and hospitality thrive. Our doors are open to everyone! Sheil is a home away from home for many students. This is a place where you Belong! Our doors are open the minute you arrive. Come early and join us for First Night @ Sheil.

First Night @ Sheil

Register Today!

Join us for First Night @ Sheil, a great way to get to know the Sheil Catholic Center, Northwestern, and the Catholic community on campus! Spend the night before move-in day at Sheil, where you'll get to know upperclassmen and other freshmen, meet the Sheil staff and the FOCUS missionaries on campus, and learn what Sheil has to offer you during your time at Northwestern! Enjoy a cook-out dinner, a free t-shirt, a bonfire, painting a rock by the shores of Lake Michigan, breakfast on the morning of move-in day, and other great and fun activities!

If you have other commitments, like Northwestern University Athletics or Marching Band, you’re still welcome to stop by Sheil any time. Come to our free BBQ at 6pm or anytime throughout the evening; we'd love to meet you and introduce you to other First Night freshmen, upperclassmen and staff members.
