Father
Justin Daffron S.J.
Rev. Justin Daffron,

assistant to the president at Loyola University Chicago. Fr.
Daffron’s academic interests lie in issues related to
mission and identity at Catholic colleges and universities.
A native
of Dallas, Texas, Fr. Daffron received his BS in business
from Centenary of College in Louisiana in 1994 the same year
he entered the Society of Jesus. He received a master of arts
in counseling from Saint Louis University in 2000 and a master
of divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology Berkeley in
2005.

from 2000 to 2002. In this capacity, he had direct supervision
of health and counseling services, judicial affairs and student
leadership.
When not running around Loyola University, Fr. Daffron can
be seen running or biking along Lake Michigan or found whipping
up meals in the kitchen of the Jesuit community. Fr. also
enjoys experiencing new cultures and is an avid traveler.
Fr. Daffron currently serves on the board of trustees of Strake
Jesuit College Prepatory in Houston, TX and offers pastoral
assistance at the Academy of the Sacred Heart (Chicago, IL)

Father
Richard Fragomeni
Father
Richard Fragomeni is a diocesan priest from Albany, New York.
He completed his S.T.B. in Theology and M.A. in Religious
Studies at the University of Louvain, Belgium. He holds an
M.A. in Liturgical Studies from Catholic University in Washington,
D. C. and a Ph.D. in Sacramental Theology from the Catholic
University of America.
Fr. Richard served
as Director of the Office of Liturgy and Music of the Diocese
of Albany prior to pursuing his doctorate.
Since 1990 he has
been an Associate Professor of Liturgy and Homiletics and
Chairperson of the Department of Word and Worship at Catholic
Theological Union in Chicago. He completed an M.M. in vocal
performance at The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music of The
Catholic University of America in June 1993.
His book titled
"Come to the Feast: An Invitation to Eucharistic Transformation"
was published by Continuum Press.
Fr. Richard sums
ups his impression of the Sheil community with 4 "P"
words: He said he appreciates the people (associates, students
and leaders); the praise (care for the liturgy, singing, prayerfulness);
the possibilities (opportunities for outreach, working for
justice, support); and the persistence (an intentional community
finding its way in a modern world and a modern church).
Father
David Godleski, S.J.
Father David Godleski,
S.J. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, previously known
as the "Furniture Capitol" of the world and the
home of former President Gerald R. Ford. After attending a
Catholic grade school, he attended a local diocesan high school
where his father was a teacher and athletic director. While
he was an undergraduate at Michigan State University, he met
his first Jesuit, who impressed him with his homilies that
seemed so relevant to his own life. This sparked Fr. Dave's
own desire to join the Society. Although continuing his reflections
upon a vocation to the Jesuits, he did doctoral studies at
Northwestern University in applied mathematics and then got
his first "real" job teaching math at Loyola University
in Chicago. Eventually, Fr. Dave applied to the Society of
Jesus, entered the novitiate in Berkley, Mich., in 1988 and
professed perpetual vows in 1990. As a Jesuit, Fr. Dave studied
philosophy at Loyola University in Chicago and then taught
math to high school students at Loyola Academy in Wilmette,
Ill., from 1991-1994.
After teaching
for three years, Fr. Dave returned to the other side of the
desk, studied theology at Weston Jesuit School of Theology
in Cambridge, MA and was ordained a priest in June, 1998 in
Chicago. Since his ordination, he has been the Vocation Director
for the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus, which encompasses
the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and the archdiocese
of Cincinnati. The most enjoyable part of Fr. Dave's ministry
is the opportunity to meet and converse with people who are
trying to decide how God is calling them. Fr. Dave says that
it is truly a privilege and pleasure to listen to peoples'
stories and hear how the Lord has been active in their lives.
Father
John Moulder
Father John Moulder
is a Chicago diocesan priest, who combines his love of ministry
and his love of music. Fr. John joined the Sheil community
as a guest priest in January, 2002. His part-time residency
here is a component of his position as liaison to the
arts community in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Fr. John's passion
for the arts goes back to childhood. The Illinois native started
playing acoustic guitar at ten, began studying the instrument
seriously at twelve and fell in love with jazz and blues at
fourteen. He became interested in composing early on and has
since written music in many genres, though jazz is where the
majority of his work has been done.
A call to the priesthood
came later, at age 24, and he was ordained in 1990. But music
never left his life. He received his Master of Music (Jazz
Pedagogy) degree from Northwestern in 2000 and continues to
play at jazz clubs and occasional concert venues.
For Fr. John, the
priesthood and music have come together in the perfect mix.
I found a way to balance both worlds.
Father
Jerry Overbeck, S.J.
For
almost 30 years, Fr. Jerry Overbeck, S.J. has lived and worked
full-time at Loyola University Chicago. As University Liturgist,
he teaches liturgy and is chaplain of the School of Law and
the School of Social Work at the Water Tower Campus of Loyola.
As he has done for most of his years at the University, "Fr.
J." (as many students call him) lives with over 400 first
and second year undergraduates in a residence hall, providing
pastoral counseling and some home cooking.
