Prayer

We offer a number of ways for people to participate in communal prayer and faith sharing activities, several of which are listed below. Additionally, we often have specific opportunities around the Advent and Lent seasons.

For more information on any of these opportunities, contact the Sheil Center at (847) 328-4648.

Celtic Prayer

If an hour of unhurried space and time for talking to God sounds like heaven, come to Celtic prayer. This evening prayer draws on the spiritual traditions of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and includes communal and individual prayer, meditation, music and the Caim, which is the great circling prayer of protection.

Celtic prayer is held once a quarter during the school year. The next Celtic Prayer will be Tuesday, March 6 at 8:30pm

Evening Prayer

Evening prayer is celebrated during the season of Lent For further information contact: Angela Stramaglia or at (847) 328-4648

Morning Prayer

Sheil offers morning prayer every weekday at 8:15 am. From the Liturgy of the Hours, morning prayer balances simplicity and silence through the praying of the psalms and canticles. Music is added to the ritual every wednesday. Please join us and start your day celebrating the richness of this form of the Church's prayer.
